A startup company in Boise that grew out of the b|launched competition — a program of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Boise Young Professionals group — is now in business.
Four teams of young professionals competed for startup funding in December. Be Free Village won $29,000. The company launched its website and social media presence Tuesday.
“We are building a virtual community for travelers with food allergy needs, starting with gluten-free consumers,” said the company’s spokesperson, Lisa Bloomquist.
Be Free Village’s CEO Brooke Green said the company is “piloting our program in Boise because this is a community our team believes in.”
The company will debut healthy gluten-free products soon, according to a press release. The Boise Chamber will hold an unveiling in June for the two teams that received funding as part of the b|launched program.
